How do you wash off vaseline – from your skin, face, hands etc.? Sometimes just using water is not enough. What is the solution? Read below the list of 6 different ways you can apply.

How do you wash off Vaseline?

  1. Use a konjac sponge to be sure all vaseline is off your skin;
  2. Use damp microfiber cloth;
  3. Use a gentle cleanser (like tonic) and microfiber to remove the product;
  4. Use cleansing oil;
  5. Use micellar water;
  6. Apply a thin layer of vaseline in the evening and splash it with water in the morning.

Let’s explore each of these six methods in detail.

Use a konjac sponge

Konjac sponge is specially formulated to cleanse and exfoliate the skin gently; it is made from the fibres of the plant of the same name (Amorphophallus Konjac).

It has been known in Asia for 1500 years and is used to cleanse and gently exfoliate the face and body.

Thanks to its natural origin, it cleanses the pores deeply, removing blackheads, dirt and excess oil with water.

Incredibly gentle and kind to the skin, it is suitable for any skin, even babies. Daily use will result in restoring the skin’s natural glow and softness.

The typical features of a konjac sponge are:

– High quality;

– Suitable for all skin types;

– Kills acne-causing bacteria and deep cleans facial pores.

– Whitening and exfoliating effect in the long term and regular use.

– Helps to shrink pores, regulates and balances, reduces shine in oily skin, and keeps skin fresh, soft and smooth.

– Gently exfoliates the skin.

– It is ideal for people with skin conditions (like hypersensitive skin)

– It is convenient to use in daily routine anytime, anywhere.

Instructions for use:

1. Soak the sponge in warm water for a few minutes until it gets completely soft.

2. Massage the face in circular motions with or without cleansing gel, depending on the dirt.

3. Rinse the sponge thoroughly and squeeze the remaining water well (do not wring it). For better drying, after wringing the sponge, you can also dry it with a towel or hang it to dry.

4. Leave the sponge in a cool and ventilated place.

5. Each sponge can be used for about 60-70 days due to its natural origin, then replaced with a new one. As it is an entirely natural product, it begins to shrink over time, and some fibres tear.

6. To disinfect, soak the sponge in hot water for 3-5 minutes. Drain off excess water and leave it in a dry place.

Use a damp microfibre cloth

Microfibres belong to chemical fibres. They are incredibly thin, even thinner than silk fibres (about one-fifth the diameter of a human hair).

In the textile industry, microfibres are defined as filaments whose fineness is less than one dtex. This means that 10 000 m of such a fibre cannot weigh more than 1 gr.

The properties may vary depending on the material used for production. The result is an incredibly adaptable fabric with many advantages over natural fibre fabrics.

What is microfibre fabric made of?

The most common synthetic material that microfibers are made from is polyester. However, nylon and other polyamides can also be used depending on what needs to be made from the microfiber.

A common prejudice against man-made fibres is that they are less environmentally friendly than fabrics made from natural fibres.

However, it is worth noting that pesticides are not used to produce microfibres. Dyeing yarns do not require any water, which means less waste overall.

In comparison, dyeing cotton requires a considerable amount of water.

What is microfibre used for?

The most well-known use of fibres is in manufacturing cleaning products such as microfibre cloths, rags and mops.

Because yarn can absorb seven times its weight in water, minor or major spills can be easily wiped up. Even more beneficial, microfibres can absorb bacteria from dirty surfaces.

During manufacture, the fibres separate into individual filaments, making them particularly effective at collecting and trapping dirt. In addition, microfibres can attract and trap bacteria and viruses from many surfaces.

Pathogens feed on organic matter – therefore, the synthetic nature of microfibre cloths is perfect, as bacteria are trapped in the strands of filaments and then killed.

Thus, the risk of spreading germs and diseases in kitchens, hospitals and anywhere microfibre cloths are used is reduced.

The threads are also soft and gentle so that even sensitive surfaces are not damaged if cleaned frequently.

Use a gentle cleanser (like tonic or toner)

Facial toner is the product we apply on the face after cleaning the makeup with other cosmetics.

Using toner, like makeup remover, is among the basic steps to cleansing the face.

It clears the pores and prepares the skin for the application of the following products, be it night cream (in the evening), makeup, or moisturizer (in the morning).

Types of facial toners

It is essential to know that there are three types of facial toner depending on your preference and skin needs.

1. Face toner with alcohol

Facial toners with alcohol are usually quite strong. A popular ingredient in facial toners is hamamelis and other similar ones that have an astringent effect on the skin.

They often dry out the skin. Facial toners with alcohol are usually recommended for people with very oily and problematic skin.

2. A water-glycerin-based facial tonic

This type of facial toner is also quite strong, though less so than alcohol-based.

It is not suitable for sensitive skin because it may cause redness. Often, many fragrances are added to this type of facial toner that smell enticing. So be sure to read the label.

3. Water-based facial toner

This is the type of facial toner that is most recommended. It is gentle even on sensitive skin and does not irritate.

The lack of alcohol makes it perfect for almost any skin type because it neither makes it oily nor overly dry.

Use cleansing oil

The high-quality cleansing oil nourishes the skin and removes excess sebum, oil-based cosmetic products and other impurities, including fine particles from polluted air.

It makes skin smooth, hydrated and fresh and transforms into a smooth emulsion on interaction with water.

It can be used before water-based facial cleansers for a mighty double cleanse.  It is good to be free of colourants, fragrances and mineral oils.

Use micellar water

Micellar water does not contain alcohol, colourants, fragrances and soap.

It is suitable for all skin types, and most importantly – it can be used to treat even the most delicate areas of the face, such as the eye area.

Micellar water cleans everything from lipstick to foundation, blush, eye shadow, and even waterproof makeup.

With it, you can cleanse and refresh your skin without fear of adverse allergic reactions.

Micellar water is even suitable for cleaning delicate baby skin.

But what makes this cosmetic product a valuable and indispensable element of everyday skin care?

This is due to the fatty acid ester micelles it contains – particles that absorb impurities and dirt.

Upon contact with the skin surface, the lipophilic poles of the micelles dissolve and trap excess sebum and impurities inside the micelle.

This means that the micellar water deep cleanses the epidermis, preventing the clogging of pores and giving rise to other skin problems.

Don’t use too much vaseline

Apply a small amount of vaseline to your face so that your face is not too slimy in the morning. Rinse with water until you wash off the substance and feel clean.

In conclusion

Vaseline is one of the most affordable cosmetic products that can be used for various beneficial purposes, including medical ones.

Natural petrolatum is obtained from wood resins purified with particular substances. And artificial petroleum jelly is a mixture of wax, purified paraffin oil and fragrances.

They are widely applied as an ingredient in cosmetic creams and medicines. We can apply petroleum jelly not only to the face but to the heels, elbows, and knees.

Vaseline moisturizes the skin, creating a protective barrier that helps retain moisture.

And now you know a few methods to successfully remove it from your skin.
